Mission Aviation Fellowship

Daily devotions on trusting God through trials, from the ministry whose pilots fly into places where the trial is not a metaphor. Tell us where to send it and it is yours.
Mission Aviation Fellowship exists because of a plain fact of geography: there are communities in this world that a road has never reached. Rivers move, seasons close the tracks, mountains do not negotiate. For the families who live there, the nearest hospital can be days away on foot — which in an emergency is the same as saying it is not there at all.
So MAF's pilots fly. Small aircraft, short runways cut out of hillsides and riverbanks, and a flight plan that is usually somebody's worst day: a mother in labour, a child with a snakebite, a village on the wrong side of a flood. The same aeroplanes carry pastors, teachers, medicine, Scripture in the language people actually pray in, and the mail that tells someone their family is still thinking of them.
None of it is glamorous work. It is maintenance sheds and weather windows and fuel logistics, done carefully because carelessness at that altitude is fatal, and done by people who chose to live a long way from anything for the sake of neighbours most of us will never meet.
That is what a gift here pays for. Not a campaign — an aircraft on a strip at first light, and the reason it is worth keeping in the air.
